Cadillac Vistiq: The Brand’s Ambitious Leap into the Electric SUV Market

Cadillac has officially unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the 2026 Vistiq, a midsize three-row SUV that aims to bridge the gap between the two-row Lyriq and the full-size Escalade IQ. With a starting price of $78,790, including destination charges, the Vistiq is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market, particularly in regions outside of North America.

A Globally Sized SUV

The Vistiq is described by Cadillac as a “globally sized” SUV, highlighting its importance in international markets. This designation reflects Cadillac’s ambition to expand its electric vehicle offerings and cater to a broader audience. The Vistiq is designed to meet the needs of families and individuals looking for a spacious, versatile, and eco-friendly vehicle.

Performance and Specifications

Under the hood, the Vistiq is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering an impressive 615 horsepower. This robust powertrain is paired with a 102-kWh battery, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds when utilizing the Velocity Max mode. While Cadillac has yet to provide an official range estimate, the smaller Lyriq, which shares the same battery, boasts an EPA-rated range of 307 miles. Additionally, the Vistiq supports DC fast charging, enabling drivers to add 79 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

Dimensions and Cargo Capacity

Measuring 205.6 inches in length, the Vistiq is approximately six inches longer than the gas-powered XT6 and nearly nine inches longer than the Lyriq. This added length translates to a maximum cargo capacity of 80.2 cubic feet, making it an ideal choice for families and those needing extra storage space. The Vistiq also boasts a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, further enhancing its utility.

Striking Exterior Design

The exterior of the Vistiq features an evolution of Cadillac’s electric design language, first introduced with the Lyriq. A distinctive pattern on the third window adds a sense of motion to the vehicle’s profile, even when stationary, while also providing additional privacy for rear passengers. The overall aesthetic is modern and sophisticated, aligning with Cadillac’s luxury branding.

Luxurious Interior Features

Inside, the Vistiq is equipped with a stunning 33-inch display that integrates both the gauge cluster and infotainment system. An additional screen at the bottom of the center stack controls climate settings, ensuring a seamless user experience. Standard features include a 23-speaker AKG audio system with Dolby Atmos, Cadillac’s Super Cruise driver assistance technology, and bidirectional charging capabilities. For those seeking enhanced safety, a night vision system will also be available.

Advanced Chassis and Suspension

The Vistiq comes standard with damping control for the chassis, providing a smooth and comfortable ride. For those desiring an even more refined driving experience, optional features such as adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering will be available. The SUV will be equipped with 21-inch wheels as standard, with larger 22- and 23-inch options offered for those looking to enhance the vehicle’s visual appeal.

Production and Availability

Production of the Cadillac Vistiq is set to begin early next year at General Motors’ Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, which is also responsible for manufacturing the Lyriq, XT5, and XT6. This facility is well-equipped to handle the production of Cadillac’s expanding electric vehicle lineup.

Conclusion

The 2026 Cadillac Vistiq represents a significant step forward for the brand as it embraces the electric vehicle revolution. With its powerful performance, spacious interior, and luxurious features, the Vistiq is designed to meet the demands of modern drivers while appealing to a global audience. As Cadillac continues to innovate and expand its electric offerings, the Vistiq is poised to become a key player in the competitive SUV market.
