Looks Like Lil Wayne Just Announced Tha Carter VI in … a Lotion Ad

Lil Wayne may not have gotten the halftime show, but that’s not stopping him from announcing Tha Carter VI at the big game. He’s just doing it in … a lotion ad. Wayne stars in a new spot for Cetaphil called “We’re All a Lil Sensitive,” making light of his disappointment about not being selected to perform at his hometown Super Bowl. The ad is also full of the sequence “6-6-25,” which appears on football jerseys and a basketball scoreboard. At the end, Wayne turns down tickets to the Super Bowl, saying, “Nah, this is time sensitive.” When the door shuts on his studio, a sign reads, “Do Not Disturb ’Til 06-06-25” with “Carter VI” written on a piece of duct tape.

It’s not hard to put those clues together, and Wayne has already teased Tha Carter VI for this year. But come on: a lotion ad? (And one that’s only airing in New Orleans?) “This campaign made perfect sense to me,” he told Rolling Stone of the spot. “The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn’t know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger.” Hopefully that means a bigger, more proper announcement than a lotion ad, too.
