Driver hospitalized after plunging into Medley canal

A driver was taken to the hospital after plunging into a canal in Medley on Saturday, authorities confirmed.

The canal is located near the 9900 block of South River Drive.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue divers arrived at the scene and said they found the submerged car with the driver still inside.

Authorities said the driver was pulled from the car and taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

No other details about the driver’s identity, age, gender or condition were immediately released.
