The Oceanco Y726: A New Giant in Superyachting

The world of superyachts is ever-evolving, with each new launch pushing the boundaries of design, luxury, and engineering. Among the latest entrants is the Oceanco Y726, a remarkable 364-foot (111-meter) vessel that stands out not only for its impressive length but also for its substantial volume of 4,550 gross tons. This makes the Y726 one of Oceanco’s largest yachts by volume, setting a new benchmark in the realm of luxury yachting.

A Celebratory Launch

On June 14, the build and design teams, along with the owner’s representatives, gathered to celebrate the launch of the Y726, still referred to by its hull number. The owner, a returning client of Oceanco, has chosen to keep details about their previous yacht under wraps, adding an air of mystery to this new project. The anticipation surrounding the Y726 is palpable, as it promises to deliver an unparalleled experience on the water.

Impressive Dimensions and Features

Oceanco has confirmed that the Y726 boasts a length overall (LOA) of 364 feet and a beam of 52 feet (16 meters). These dimensions not only contribute to its striking presence but also allow for expansive interior and exterior spaces. The owner envisions the yacht as a sanctuary for family gatherings and private retreats, featuring a winter garden enveloped in glass, two cinemas (one of which is alfresco), and a luxurious spa complete with a steam room and sauna.

The beach club, a hallmark of modern superyachts, is designed to be a social hub, complete with a bar, ensuring that guests can enjoy both relaxation and entertainment in style.

Milestones and Creative Collaborations

The journey of the Y726 has been marked by significant milestones, including a unique celebration with custom chocolate bars to commemorate developmental achievements. Prior to this, Oceanco welcomed the yacht to its outfitting shed with a street artist’s graffiti, showcasing the shipyard’s commitment to creativity and innovation.

The design of the Y726 is a collaborative effort, uniting the talents of Mark Berryman for interior design and Espen Øino International for exterior styling. Oceanco’s own naval architects have worked alongside Lateral Naval Architects, while Dan Jackson of Wright Maritime Group has provided specific engineering requests. This collaborative approach has involved “hundreds of participants,” according to Lee Archer, Lateral’s program director, who emphasizes that the Y726 reflects “bold design ambition and robust engineering.”

Anticipation for Delivery and Sea Trials

While the delivery date for the Y726 has not been publicly announced, it is expected to occur later this year, alongside the yacht’s sea trials. Edske Smit, Oceanco’s project director, expresses confidence that the Y726 will be a standout addition to the Oceanco fleet. A.J. Anderson, CEO of Wright Maritime Group, echoes this sentiment, stating, “As we enter the final stages, we’re proud to play a part in delivering a truly special yacht to her owner.”
