Lürssen has launched the 114.2-meter Project Cosmos, marking a milestone as the German shipyard’s first superyacht to feature fuel-cell technology. Built to coincide with Lürssen’s 150th anniversary, the vessel—also known as Project 13759—was designed inside and out by Marc Newson for a visionary owner who sought to push boundaries in both style and sustainability.

A highlight of Cosmos is the glass-domed private owner’s study, complete with a sky terrace. Lürssen engineered a custom process to bend thick glass without imperfections, delivering unobstructed 360-degree views. Additional standout spaces include a glass observation deck beneath the foredeck helipad and an open aft deck with a pool, Jacuzzi and dry dock for the yacht’s largest tender.

With a steel hull, superstructure, and an estimated interior volume of 6,300 GT, Cosmos combines futuristic lines with extensive glazing. The vessel’s fuel-cell system allows for up to 15 days of zero-emission operation at anchor or 1,000 nautical miles of slow-speed cruising, integrating seamlessly with her methanol supply and electrical infrastructure.

First seen out of the shed in 2023, Project Cosmos has now completed outfitting and represents a major step forward for Lürssen in sustainable large-yacht design.
