Dreamscape, a 2008 Tiara Yachts 5800 Sovran, is a 58-foot express cruiser with a two-stateroom, two-head layout and triple-diesel-engine configuration. The yacht accommodates four guests for cruising and is currently listed by Galati Yacht Sales for $625,000.

This model was Tiara’s flagship at the time of launch, with a raked deckhouse, down-swept side windows, a hardtop overhang and a reverse- transom design.

Dreamscape is powered by triple, 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 diesels. The IPS pod-drive system makes for easier close-quarters handling, increased fuel efficiency compared to traditional straight-shaft diesels and reduced vibration, which, in turn, lessens onboard noise.

The yacht cruises around 29 knots, with a reported top speed of 34 knots. The joystick docking system simplifies handling around the dock.

“Wait till you drive it,” came the reply from David Zgrabik, a senior service specialist for Volvo Penta. He had spent countless hours helping to plan and then install the first triple IPS 600 diesel system, the same three 435 hp engines turning azipod units with forward-facing dual-prop drives that would soon be pulling us along at cruising speeds of 30 knots for hours on end. For the next six hours, the Tiara Sovran 5800 was our magic carpet ride, smoothing out the light chop of Lake Erie.” Yachting previously reported.

The cockpit has an L-shaped settee with a high-gloss teak table, a solit setup for alfresco dining. A hydraulic swim platform with an 800-pound-capacity lift provides easy water access. There is also a wet bar with refrigerator, ice maker and electric grill. The foredeck has adjustable sun pads, offering an additional lounging space.

Sliding glass doors lead into the Dreamscape‘s salon, which includes an L-shaped leather settee, two chairs, a pop-up flat-screen TV and a wet bar with wine cooler. Large windows and skylights allow for abundant natural light.

The helm station is located forward with twin adjustable captain’s chairs. Electronics include Raymarine multifunction displays, radar, autopilot and GPS. The IPS joystick and electronic engine controls enhance boathandling. Side windows and a sunroof can be opened for breezes when desired.

The full-beam owner’s stateroom has a queen island berth, nightstands, entertainment system and en suite head with walk-in shower. There’s a VIP forward.

Below, the galley has Corian countertops, stainless-steel appliances, a refrigerator/freezer, convection microwave, electric cooktop, dishwasher and upper/lower cabinets for stowage.

The full-beam owners’ stateroom is located amidships with a queen-size island berth, nightstands, an entertainment system and hull-side windows for ocean views. The ensuite head includes a walk-in shower and solid-surface countertops.

The VIP stateroom forward has a queen pedestal berth, under-berth and hanging locker stowage and an overhead hatch with shade and screen. Both staterooms have dedicated entertainment systems.
