In the future … we will have a country where there is an awards ceremony for television where the shows are separated by comedy and drama, but nobody will actually be able to tell the difference between those genres. Comedian Nate Bargatze will host the 2025 Emmy Awards, per an April 16 press release. “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world,” Bargatze said in a statement, plain and simple.
“Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multigenerational audiences around the globe,” Television Academy chair Cris Abrego added. This year’s ceremony takes place Sunday, September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing simultaneously on CBS and Paramount+. Nominations will be announced on July 15. Prepare yourself for a battle royale of the White Lotus versus Severance versus The Last of Us.
