If you stay with us longer than tonight, you’ll be rewarded with an album over five decades in the making. The Faces are nearly done with their newest record, with Kenney Jones confirming in a new Telegraph interview that himself, Rod Stewart, and Ronnie Wood have recorded “about” 11 songs together. “Not all of them are going to be right,” Jones said of the material. “But most of them are good.” He doesn’t anticipate a release this year, though, citing the schedules of his globe-trotting bandmates. “I can see it coming out next year. Everyone’s doing different things,” Jones added. “We do little snippets of recording here and there. Then all of a sudden, the Stones are out on tour again, Rod’s out again.” Stewart told us last year that his best unreleased material has been diverted for use in this new Faces album, songs of which he has consulted Wood about. “I told him, ‘This is stuff we’ve recorded with my band, maybe the Faces would like to do it instead?’ We’re still struggling to make this album,” he explained. “We’ll see. Some of them might see the light of day.” And if they do, well, a Rushmore dance to that.
