Zootopia 2 Slithers In

Ready for the Zootopia ssssssssssssssequel? Disney’s massive box-office success Zootopia scored over a billion dollars in the worldwide box office back in 2016. No surprise that it’s becoming a franchise, but it’s taken nearly ten years to get back in theaters. Sure, in 2022, there was one season of a Disney+ series (titled Zootopia+), but that didn’t feature either of the main characters from the original film. The people yearn for Nick and Judy! Below, everything we know about our next trip to Zootopia.

Is there a Zootopia 2 teaser?

The first teasssser for Zootopia 2 came out on May 20, and it not only reminds the world about besties fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) and bunny Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), but introduces us to a new character, Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan). In the wordless teaser, Nick and Judy chase after the reptile while pursued by hippos in uniform themselves, before ultimately encountering a different villain, shrouded under a hood and unseen except for their glowing yellow eyes.

Who else is in the cast?

Alongside Goodwin, Bateman, and newcomer Quan, Zootopia is populated with a herd of other creatures, big and small. Most importantly, Shakira will be returning as pop star Gazelle, and if we get a banger half as good as “Try Everything,” then this whole project will be a guaranteed success. She’ll be joined by Quinta Brunson, who will be voicing a therapist quokka named Dr. Fuzzby, and Fortune Feimster, voicing a beaver named Nibbles.

When’s the release date?

Zootopia 2 comes out November 26, 2025 — better known as Thanksgiving weekend. Good luck getting your niece to eat a turkey if the movie includes a rafter of them.
