Mangusta Oceano 50 “Felicità”: Italian poise and long‑range comfort at PBIBS 2026

Felicità—named for the Italian word for happiness—arrived in the United States as a refined example of Overmarine Group’s Mangusta Oceano 50 line. Delivered in 2025 as the fifth hull in the series and penned inside and out by Italian stylist Alberto Mancini with naval architecture by Overmarine, the 49.9‑metre displacement yacht was presented by Cecil Wright in the Superyacht Show at the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026.

Design and exterior

Felicità’s silhouette is characterised by a low, elongated profile and a continuous dark glazed band that visually unifies the three full decks and sun deck. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the yacht integrates leisure elements into its clean lines: a foredeck pool set into the raked bow creates a forward social area with surrounding sunloungers, while the stern reveals a three‑sided fold‑out beach club that opens to sea level.

Interior and accommodation

Alberto Mancini’s interior palette relies on natural materials—linen and silk fabrics in light blue and turquoise, white marble, sand‑toned oak parquet, ash wood and brass accents—producing a calm, contemporary aesthetic. The main saloon is conceived as a single open volume with floor‑to‑ceiling glazing; low, structured furniture and a semi‑circular seating arrangement define the lounge, while a subtle partition separates dining without interrupting sightlines to the water.

Felicità accommodates 12 guests in five staterooms, including a full‑beam master suite on the main deck with a private sea‑level terrace and distinct sleeping, dressing and bathroom areas. The lower deck houses two double cabins and two twin cabins—each with en‑suite bathrooms and the twins fitted with Pullman berths—while crew quarters forward support an 11‑strong professional crew. Wellness facilities include a fully equipped gym on the lower deck and a hammam/steam room within the beach club.

Performance, construction and systems

The yacht’s steel hull and aluminium superstructure sit on teak decks and are powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M86 diesels (1,700 hp each), giving a combined output of 3,400 hp. Felicità’s performance figures list a maximum speed of 16 knots with comfortable cruise speeds of 11–12 knots. Published range figures vary slightly by source: Boat International cites approximately 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots, while other listings note around 4,000 nautical miles—both reflecting the displacement hull and bulbous bow’s long‑range efficiency. The yacht displaces 515 tonnes and carries 68,000 litres of fuel and 16,000 litres of water.

At the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2026

Shown in the Superyacht Show enclave (25–29 March 2026), Felicità joined a lineup of 50‑to‑60‑metre craft including Zenji, Galene, Laurentia, Double Haven and Ela. Attendees touring the yacht could experience the integrated foredeck pool, the sea‑level beach club with steam room, the gym and the bright, glazed interiors that prioritise connection to the sea—attributes that positioned Felicità as one of the notable Italian entries in the show.

Why it matters

Felicità illustrates a current superyacht trend that pairs lived‑in, wellness‑forward interiors with efficient displacement‑hull long‑range capability. In a market where owners demand both extended cruising autonomy and on‑board lifestyle amenities, Mangusta’s Oceano 50 strikes a middle ground: restrained Italian design and tangible outdoor programming (foredeck pool, beach club, sun‑deck jacuzzi and open‑air cinema) without sacrificing transoceanic range.
