Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Are ‘Trying to Parent Through’ Tragedy

Ten years ago, Alec Baldwin told us that he was quitting public life. The news ran as a 2014 New York Magazine cover story with a photo of the actor’s face beside the quote, “I give up.” But as it turns out, a lot can change after a decade (like a dismissal for an involuntary manslaughter charge). This February, TLC releases a new reality series starring Alec and his wife, Hilaria/Hillary, about life with their “seven growing children,” whose ages range from 19 months to 10 years old. The new trailer shows the crazy daily moments of the Baldwins: chasing kids, wrangling six animals, and managing life in the spotlight, especially after the Rust incident. “A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy,” Hilaria explains in the trailer. “This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.”

While the trailer doesn’t show the exact timeline of when the show was filmed, it does hint that they’ll be discussing how death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins affected their family, especially because a lot has happened with his trial and with the film throughout 2024. Alec’s Rust manslaughter trial ended with a dismissal in July 2024, now he’s suing prosecutors in New Mexico for “manufacturing” a case against him. Rust also premiered in Poland late last year with no news on a wide release of the film.

The Baldwins premieres on Sunday, February 23. We guess TLC didn’t want to go with the nickname that Hilaria, a Massachusetts native who has been criticized for implying she has Spanish heritage, uses for her kids: the “Baldwinitos.”
