Azimut has introduced the Magellano 27M at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, marking the third generation of its successful crossover line. With fresh design perspectives and an emphasis on long-range cruising, the new model underscores the Italian builder’s evolving vision for voyaging in style and comfort.

The Magellano range has held a distinct place in Azimut’s portfolio since its debut more than a decade ago. Conceived for owners who value extended passages and time at anchor as much as short coastal hops, the series has always married efficiency with refined Italian design. The new 27M carries that ethos forward while introducing bold architectural elements from Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén, in collaboration with AMDL Circle, and interiors by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi.

On the exterior, Jämsén has given the 27M a striking profile defined by an “industrial loop” that runs the length of the yacht, creating a balance between crisp engineering and sculptural form. The use of large windows and clean planes amplifies reflection, light and shadow, allowing the yacht to interact dynamically with its surroundings. It is a departure from the softer lines of earlier Magellano models, pointing to a new design direction for the crossover range.

A standout feature of the new yacht is its main deck, conceived as a loggia overlooking the sea. The architectural approach blurs the line between inside and out, turning the salon into a place of both openness and shelter. For De Lucchi—best known for his contributions to Italian architecture and industrial design—the 27M marks his first yacht project. He brings pergola-inspired wooden structures, extensive glazing, and light-toned finishes that give the interiors a warm, minimal aesthetic.

The result is a yacht with a strong architectural identity, one that introduces a new chapter in Azimut’s approach to cruising yachts. Yet, while the design may be progressive, the mission remains consistent with the Magellano heritage: to provide an efficient, comfortable platform for long-range passages. With its generous beam and thoughtful spaces, the 27M is equally suited for days underway or extended time at anchor, offering owners the freedom to explore without compromise.

For Azimut, which has long been a pioneer in marrying Italian style with advanced construction, the Magellano 27M is both a continuation and a reinvention. It builds on the proven DNA of a line beloved for its versatility, while signaling where yacht design may be headed in the coming years.
