Coyote vs. Acme May Still Get to Take the Stand

In cartoons, no matter how many trucks run over Wile E. Coyote, and no matter how many times he gets an anvil dropped on his head, he still survives. Over a year after Coyote vs. Acme was condemned to content jail by Warner Bros., and one fully released Looney Tunes movie later, the film is showing signs of life. Ketchup Entertainment is reportedly negotiating a distribution deal with Warner Bros. that would give it the right to distribute the previously shelved film, per Deadline. The deal has yet to be finalized, but the report puts the cost in the area of $50 million — $20 million less than initial reporting stated WB required to make a deal with competitors for the movie. Previously, Ketchup scored the rights to The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after purchasing that from WB as well.

The film is a combination of animation and live action, starring Will Forte, Lana Condor, and John Cena. Dave Green (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows) directed with a screenplay by Samy Burch (May December). Test audiences reportedly loved the movie, which follows Wile E. Coyote as he attempts to sue Acme for damages inflicted by their products in his pursuit of Road Runner. Fans across the desert are getting ready to run to theaters.
