Cruisers Yachts returned to the flybridge market last year with its 57 Fly. With the 50 Fly, the Wisconsin boatbuilder expands the series by creating a new entry point.

The 57 Fly was designed in collaboration with renowned superyacht designer Luiz de Basto, and the 50 Fly retains much of the larger yacht’s design DNA. That includes house-length arched side windows and raked, stretched front windows, which together help create nearly 360-degree views and enhance the sense of interior volume.

When I was aboard the 50 Fly, I found this sensation immediately apparent at the double-wide lower helm seat to starboard. The oversized windows blurred the lines between inside and outside, forming a seamless connection. A sliding window next to the helm created a literal link to the outside. This setup would be helpful when cruising shorthanded if the skipper needed to communicate with crew or pop out to grab a spring line.

Another cool design element is that the double-wide helm seat pivots to form a settee across from the dinette, with L-shaped seating to port. Add another L-shaped settee to starboard, and this convivial layout is within easy reach of the L-shaped galley aft. It has a Kenyon induction cooktop, a microwave/convection oven, a 6.1-cubic-foot refrigerator and a 2-cubic-foot freezer, providing enough provisions space for a weekend of family cruising. A solid-surface countertop has a suitable meal-prep area, too. With open cockpit sliding doors, the galley has a direct connection to the cockpit, which is laid out for alfresco meals with L-shaped seating  around a table aft. The extended flybridge shades the space. From the port side, the cockpit provides access to the hydraulic swim platform.

The 50 Fly’s, well, flybridge is ready to entertain guests, thanks to standard U-shaped seating for six people around two tables aft, as well as a wet bar, grill and sink to starboard. There is a single helm seat forward to starboard. A sunpad is to port. Views are included.

Need room for overflow guests or want to enjoy sundowners with friends? The foredeck has a lounge and a sunpad that can be shaded with drop-in poles and an awning.

As the company name implies, the Cruisers 50 Fly is designed for family cruising with a three-stateroom, two-head layout belowdecks. The full-beam owners’ space is amidships with a queen berth and en suite head. Hullside windows bring light into the space. The forepeak VIP also has a queen berth, while the third stateroom has twins.

Power for the Cruisers 50 Fly is twin Volvo Penta IPS800 diesels, and the builder reports speeds of up to 28 knots.

With a turnkey vessel like this, the hardest decision may be where to go first.

Sistership

For boaters who like the look and feel of the 50 Fly but want more space, Cruisers Yachts offers the 57 Fly with 7 more feet in length overall, as well as an extra 9 inches of beam.

Pick a Color

The Cruisers 50 Fly comes standard with white topsides and a white hull, but owners can also choose white with black, white with Kingston Gray or white with Baltic Blue.

Serve Center

From cooking to cocktails, this yacht’s flybridge is equipped and ready for duty. It has an electric grill, a 3-cubic-foot refrigerator and an 8-cubic-foot ice maker.

Facts and Figures

  • The Cruisers 50 Fly has an 800-pound tender capacity.
  • Maximum bridge clearance to the mast light is 22 feet, 2 inches.
  • The upper and lower helms are each equipped with dual 16-inch Garmin multifunction displays.
