Get Moving This Fall with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation!
As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, it’s time to think about getting your child involved in fall sports! Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation (RFPRA) offers an exciting lineup of activities designed to help young athletes get moving, build confidence, and create lifelong memories. Whether your child is interested in tackle football, flag football, cheerleading, volleyball, baseball, softball, or t-ball, there’s something for everyone. Now is the perfect time to sign up!
Registration Details
Registration for fall sports is officially open, but don’t delay! Early registration discounts are available until July 6, 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure your child’s spot on a team at a lower rate. After July 6, regular registration fees will apply from July 7 through August 3. If you miss these dates, a last-chance registration period will run from August 4 to August 8, but be aware that fees will increase during this time. All registration for fall sports will close on August 8, 2025, so make sure to act quickly!
How to Register
Signing up is a breeze! Parents can visit the RFPRA offices located at 1 Shorter Avenue during office hours—Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Prefer the convenience of registering from home? Simply head to www.rfpra.com and click the “Register” button. Don’t forget that a birth certificate is required for participation in these programs.
Financial Assistance
RFPRA understands that financial constraints can sometimes prevent children from participating in sports. To ensure that every child has the opportunity to play, scholarship options are available for families in need. “We open registration for all of our sports the first week of January each year to give parents plenty of time to plan and take advantage of early registration discounts,” says RFPRA Director Todd Wofford. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that no child misses out on the chance to engage in sports.
Volunteer Opportunities
The fun doesn’t stop with the kids! RFPRA is also seeking energetic and enthusiastic volunteer coaches and officials for football, cheerleading, baseball, softball, and t-ball. Volunteering is a rewarding way to get involved in the community and support youth development. If you’re interested in making a difference, reach out to Blake Lambert at [email protected].
