Long time no see-quel. After nearly 14 years, a fourth Meet the Parents movie is in the works at Universal Pictures. Deadline reported in December 2024 that Ben Stiller and his onscreen focker-in-law Robert De Niro were in early talks to reunite in the cast alongside Teri Polo and Blythe Danner. All four actors starred in Meet the Parents, the 2000 comedy that was followed by Meet the Fockers in 2004 and Little Fockers in 2010. The franchise follows couple Greg Focker and Pam Byrnes (Stiller and Polo) and their very different sets of in-laws. We’ve had several casting announcements, including Owen Wilson’s return and Ariana Grande’s introduction to the family. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming family reunion, including what it’s about, who’s planning it all, and when the table should be set.

What is Meet the Parents 4 about?

We haven’t gotten many official plot details so far, but unless Universal wants to invest in some serious CGI de-aging, it seems safe to assume that Meet the Parents 4 will be following the Byrnes and Focker families later in life. One clue as to what the Fockers will be up against is in the latest casting announcement with Miss Ariana Grande. She’ll be playing the “ball-busting” fiancée to Ben Stiller’s character’s son, so there might be some pre-wedding activities set up for some Fockers antics. Owen Wilson is also back (he played Teri Polo’s ex-fiancé) so maybe he can add some perspective as the one who got away.

Who’s in the cast?

Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Ariana Grande, and now Owen Wilson are all set for the Focker family gathering. Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand played Greg’s parents, but it’s reportedly not clear yet if they’ll be coming back for the latest sequel.

Who else is involved?

Jay Roach, who produced all three Meet the Parents movies and directed the first two, will reportedly produce the new installment alongside De Niro, Stiller, Jane Rosenthal, and John Lesher. Meanwhile, John Hamburg is set to go four-for-four in the franchise and write the screenplay.

When is Meet the Parents 4 coming out?

You can meet Meet the Parents 4 in theaters on November 25, 2026.

What is Meet the Parents 4 called?

No title has been confirmed yet, but our money’s on Meet the Grandparents or Old Fockers.
