Eric Dane returns to Euphoria high April 14. Ahead of the actor’s return to set, Dane disclosed his diagnosis with ALS. “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” said in a statement to People. “I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a degenerative disease that affects the muscles. As the muscles weaken, patients eventually experience difficulty moving, swallowing, and speaking. There is no cure. Per the Mayo Clinic, half of all people with ALS die within 18 months of diagnosis, but some live for 10 years after being diagnosed. Stephen Hawking lived for decades after his diagnosis in 1963.
Eric Dane is one of many Euphoria actors who are confirmed to return for the long-delayed third season. Colman Domingo confirmed his return on WWHL last year. And in February, we got a first look at Zendaya as Rue. Dane’s on-screen son, Jacob Elordi, is confirmed to return now that filming on Wuthering Heights has wrapped.
