Everything That Happened on the 2025 Met Gala Red Carpet

Have you looked camp in the eye yet today? It’s tradition to do so on every first Monday of May since Karlie Kloss paved the way six years ago. At the 2025 Met Gala on May 5, gracious host Anna Wintour was joined by co-chairs Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, and A$AP Rocky, whose sartorial accomplishment, along with that of honorary co-chair LeBron James, epitomized the Met Costume Institute’s exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This year, celebrities attending the annual fundraising ball did their best to stare down Black dandyism, a revolutionary Black fashion expression that challenged traditions throughout history. Here’s everything you missed on the blue carpet, which was full of hats (of all sizes), exes, Diana Ross, and at least two red-carpet cigars.

Okay, typically during the Met Gala, celebrities aren’t supposed to be using their phones. But Megan Thee Stallion is an Aquarius, so the rules do not apply to her. She posted a video with Doechii and Angel Reese taste-testing the corn bread and caviar. Fingers crossed she got enough footage for a full vlog.
