Cabo Yachts was founded in 1991 in Adelanto, California, and quickly established itself as a major player in the inboard sportfishing boat market, building express and convertible yachts from 31 to 52 feet. Cabos are prized by owners for their quality, reliability and fishability. This pedigreed express-style fishboat’s modified V-hull was designed by naval architect Michael Peters. Reel Blessed is a 2006 Cabo 52 Open offered by HMY Yacht Sales in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for an asking price of $1.199 million.
Yachting previously reported, “You’re unlikely to experience a problem with maneuvering the 52, either fishing or around the docks. You can back down at 6 knots in total control and spin with or without rudder. And if you happen to take water into the cockpit, advancing the throttles forward empties it in an instant. Drifting beam-to the four-footers showed the Cabo 52 to have a fairly long roll moment but with gentle enough transitions that it didn’t feel awkward.”

Big propellers also give the Cabo 52 Express enhanced performance while vacuum-bagging gave the hull strength without adding unnecessary weight. The engine room is large for a boat of its class. The cockpit is well-laid out and features a transom door, 50-gallon recirculating bait well, bait-prep center, tackle storage, ice box and excellent stowage space.

Steps lead down to the large, wood-trimmed galley, which has an impressive number of cabinets for a boat of this size. Opposite is the salon with an L-shaped settee and cocktail table. Sleeping accommodations include a forward master stateroom with a private head and a guest stateroom with double berth and a bunkroom, flanking the second head. Plus, the salon settee converts into yet another berth. Reel Blessed is powered by MAN V-12 CRM 1550 diesel engines.
