Heesen Yachts has officially launched its latest masterpiece, the 55-metre superyacht Solemates, previously known as Project Venus. This remarkable vessel, built from steel, is a testament to Heesen’s unwavering commitment to luxury, innovation, and exceptional craftsmanship. The launch marks a new milestone for the renowned Dutch shipyard, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the luxury yacht industry.
Representing the owners, Rupert Connor from Luxury Yachts spoke about why returning to Heesen was a natural choice for the client. “Heesen’s exceptional quality standards and unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations ensured that Solemates would be another extraordinary build,” Connor explained. He also emphasized the smooth collaboration throughout the construction process, where Heesen’s project team demonstrated enthusiasm and a strong commitment to the owners’ specific requests.
The yacht is now entering the commissioning phase, preparing for its maiden voyage to the North Sea. Here, she will undergo rigorous sea trials before embarking on its journey as a family-centric vessel designed for creating unforgettable experiences at sea. With an emphasis on comfort and relaxation, the yacht’s design ensures an inviting atmosphere for family gatherings and quality time together.
One of the standout features of Solemates is its innovative interior design, which is being brought to life by Heesen’s interior engineers in collaboration with Silvia Margutti of Luca Dini Design and Architecture. This team has meticulously crafted an interior that perfectly aligns with the owner’s vision. A vibrant and sophisticated colour scheme—blending lime greens, teal, and baby aqua blue—adds a fresh, modern elegance to the yacht, enhancing its family-friendly concept.
A particularly captivating element of the yacht’s design is the main staircase, which has been redesigned to make a striking visual statement. Adorned with acrylic panels embedded with gold flakes and crystals, the staircase creates an enchanting visual experience, offering a touch of glamour and luxury as guests move through the yacht.
The yacht’s outdoor spaces are equally impressive. The bridge deck salon has been thoughtfully designed for family gatherings, offering a cosy yet spacious environment for socialising and relaxation. The expansive sundeck is another highlight, featuring a larger-than-life jacuzzi and an adjacent bar, ideal for hosting guests while enjoying the breathtaking ocean vistas.
Throughout the design and construction process, Heesen’s project team has worked in close collaboration with the owner’s representatives to incorporate enhancements aimed at maximizing the family experience. With a strong focus on creating spaces for leisure, entertainment, and relaxation, Solemates offers a holistic approach to superyacht design that brings together functionality and beauty in perfect harmony.
Heesen Yachts’ CEO, Niels Vaessen, expressed his pride in the launch, stating, “The launch of Solemates illustrates our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and innovative design. We take pride in creating yachts that not only meet but exceed the aspirations of our clients.”
Solemates will make its debut at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show next September, followed by an appearance at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The yacht is expected to be delivered to its owners in Q2 of 2025, marking yet another milestone for Heesen Yachts in the world of luxury yacht manufacturing. With its stunning design, state-of-the-art features, and family-focused approach, Solemates is set to become a standout in the world of superyachts.
