Sometimes in Life, All You Need is a Bit of Luxury

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, there are moments when we crave a touch of luxury. For some, this might mean a lavish vacation, while for others, it could be a weekend getaway in a stylish hotel. After trying my hand at roughing it in campsites and settling for budget hotels, I’ve come to realize that a little indulgence goes a long way in enhancing the travel experience.

The Quest for Comfort

My wife, Aleena, often bears the brunt of my penchant for luxury, and our savings account sometimes feels the pinch. However, I firmly believe that if we’re going to take a break, we might as well do it right. This philosophy led us to book a stay at the exquisite RIGH Residences in Edinburgh, a decision that turned out to be a perfect blend of comfort, style, and convenience.

A Prime Location

Nestled on George Street, RIGH Residences boasts an enviable location right in the heart of Edinburgh. Just a stone’s throw away from the vibrant Princes Street, it served as the ideal backdrop for our weekend escape. The Residences pride themselves on being “much more than a regular hotel room, designed around the modern traveler,” and they certainly lived up to that promise.

Celebrating a Milestone

Our visit coincided with a special occasion: our daughter Leela’s first birthday. While we aimed to celebrate her milestone, the trip was also a much-needed respite for us as new parents. With this in mind, we sought three essential elements for our stay: a convenient location, ample space for our baby, and a touch of elegance. RIGH Residences delivered on all fronts.

A Warm Welcome

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a delightful surprise—a birthday gift for Leela, along with thoughtful treats for us, including a bottle of fizz, some Irn-Bru, and delicious shortbread. It was these small gestures that made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated.

Spacious Elegance

The Edwardian Suite we checked into was nothing short of spectacular. The spacious bedroom featured a king-sized bed, a travel cot (provided by RIGH), and a plush TV. An artfully decorated hallway led us to a living area that included a dining space, kitchenette, and a cozy couch—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

The large windows offered stunning views of the lively streets below, providing endless entertainment for both Leela and us as we indulged in some people-watching. The sleek, high-tech features, including a control table for room settings and electric curtains, added a modern touch to our luxurious stay.

Family-Friendly Amenities

One of the standout features of our suite was the well-equipped kitchenette. Unlike many other aparthotels that offer minimal cooking facilities, RIGH’s kitchenette was fully stocked and functional. As parents navigating the challenges of weaning, having the option to prepare our own meals in a spacious environment was a significant advantage.

Exceptional Service

The staff at RIGH Residences were exemplary. From the moment we arrived, they were warm and accommodating, even carrying our bags up two flights of stairs when the lift was temporarily out of service. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist made our stay even more enjoyable.

Exploring Edinburgh

With our luxurious base established, it was time to explore the enchanting city of Edinburgh. The central location of RIGH Residences meant that attractions were just a short walk away. A mere 15-minute stroll took us to the historic Edinburgh Castle, where I indulged my love for history. The Royal Mile, with its lively buskers, captivated Leela’s attention as we wandered through the charming streets.

Dining and Shopping

When it came to dining, fine dining was off the table with a baby in tow, but Edinburgh offers a plethora of fantastic eateries. We enjoyed a casual meal at one of the many delightful restaurants before heading to Harvey Nichols and the St James Quarter mall for some retail therapy. It was the perfect opportunity to pick up a little surprise gift for Leela, rewarding her for being such a good sport.

A Perfect End to the Day

After a fulfilling day of exploration, we returned to our luxurious apartment for storytime with Leela and an early night’s rest, ready to do it all again the next day.

Conclusion: Get It Right with RIGH Residences

If you’re planning a trip to Edinburgh, I wholeheartedly recommend choosing RIGH Residences. With rooms starting from £137 per night for a cozy apartment in January, it’s an investment in comfort and style that you won’t regret. Sometimes, all you need is a bit of luxury to elevate your travel experience, and RIGH Residences is the perfect place to indulge in that luxury while creating lasting memories with your loved ones.
