Introducing Delta Marine’s Zembra

Sure, that full metallic Arizona bronze paint will be a showstopper. And indeed, those cut-down bulwarks should help to create some fantastic views of the outdoors for owners and guests alike. But arguably the coolest thing about the forthcoming 152-foot Zembra from Delta Marine is the way the owners are outfitting the yacht for serious adventures.

A 3,500-pound boom crane will be mounted on the bridge deck so the crew can deploy an Icon A5 amphibious aircraft and a three-passenger U-Boat Worx submersible. They’re in addition to the Williams Jet Tender for gunkholing around the bays and harbors, and for zipping back and forth to shore for walkabouts in places that have civilization, or not.

Zembra is being built with a full-displacement hull that’s capable of transoceanic itineraries. Delta joined that hull with the superstructure a few months ago, signifying the end of structural work and the beginning of the composite yacht’s outfitting.

Inside, there are five staterooms including a full-beam master on the main deck. One of the belowdecks guest staterooms is wheelchair-accessible, and an elevator connects all of the yacht’s decks to make it easier for guests to get around.

The owners were reportedly quite involved with every detail of the design, following years of owning other yachts. Roger Thomas of Woogmaster Studio worked with Delta Design Group on the interior design, with the Delta team handling everything else, including naval architecture.

Zembra’s draft is listed as 10 feet with the yacht fully loaded, and gross tonnage will be below 300. Power will be a pair of 1,200 hp Cat C32 engines for what Delta projects as a cruise speed of 12 knots and a top end of 15.5 knots. Quantum zero-speed stabilizers should help keep everyone comfortable at anchor, along with 45-ton Dometic air conditioning for cruises in warmer climates. Bow thrusters are by Sleipner, with two generators from Kohler.

The owners plan to share the globetrotting fun with charter clients, and have listed Zembra for bookings through Northrop & Johnson. The yacht will be available brand-new—a rare opportunity no matter where Zembra happens to be.
