Don’t know if you’ve heard, but Saturday Night Live season 50 is kind of a big deal. Like: It’s the cover of New York Magazine and a Reason to Love New York kinda big deal. Also a big deal? The fact that Timothée Chalamet is going to be a Saturday Night Live musical guest. Sorry … what? Chalamet will be both host and musical guest on January 25, in the midst of awards-season promotion for his Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. We have to assume that he’ll be performing Dylan songs, but will they be in character as Dylan? Who knows. We’d honestly be down to see him do “Statistics.”
The Chalamet news looms so large that it’s almost hard to notice the return of Dave Chappelle, who will be hosting the first show of 2025 on January 18. That means it’s also the last show before Trump’s re-inauguration. Let’s all cross our fingers nobody tells him about Emilia Pérez. He’ll be assisted by musical guest GloRilla, who we can only hope brings out Kamala voter Sexyy Red for “Whatchu Kno About Me.” Below, all the dates, hosts, and musical guests for SNL 50.
September 28: Jean Smart and Jelly Roll
