Low-Hour Prestige 520S For Sale

The Prestige 500 and 500S had over 450 hulls delivered during a seven-year run as a market leading cruiser, which meant the 520 and 520S had big shoes to fill when the models launched in 2018. 

“Most builders in Prestige’s situation would do little more than a face-lift,” Yachting previously reported. “A tweak here and a tweak there. Why mess with success? To my surprise, the French builder did a whole lot more than tweak. To create the 520’s profile, Garroni Design (which also penned the interior) used 50 percent more glazing than Prestige had on the 500.”

Galati Yacht Sales currently has The Islanders, a 2018 Prestige 520S, listed for $799,000. The 52-foot express cruiser has the potential to be a dayboat or a weekend cruiser. 

“The Islanders is a prime example of what a 50-foot yacht should be,” says Galati Yacht Sales. “She is captain maintained and shows extremely well. The seller is also willing to lease her slip at Longboat Key Moorings, which gives any buyer a turnkey boat and slip package.”

The main-deck interior has a galley-aft layout, which reinforces this vessel’s trait of being entertainment-friendly, and the salon lounge area amidships. Seating includes a U-shaped settee and fixed folding dining table to port and a second L-shaped settee to starboard, abaft the helm station. The galley has meal-prep amenities like a Corian countertop, an island and stowage. Galley appliances include a microwave, a cooktop, a refrigerator, a freezer and a stainless-steel sink. 

Belowdecks, owners will enjoy the master stateroom amidships with a private entrance. Guests will find a forepeak VIP with a convertible double berth and a guest cabin to port with twin single berths. 

The Islanders has twin 435 hp Volvo IPS 600 diesels with 765 hours on them. This setup will reportedly hit a 26-knot top speed when fully loaded, however, our test yacht saw a 27-knot top hop during seatrials with a lighter load. At an 18-knot fast cruise the 520S has a 175-nautical-mile range. Slowing to 8 knots increases the vessel’s range to 500 nm.
