Marilyn Manson will not be charged for domestic violence or sexual assault in Los Angeles, prosecutors announced on January 24. New district attorney Nathan Hochman said in a press release that the decision came at the conclusion of a “comprehensive four-year investigation” into the shock rocker, born Brian Warner. “We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt,” Hochman said. Manson’s attorney told KTLA he and his client were “very pleased” by the news.
Game of Thrones star Esmé Bianco called for charges against Manson when she endorsed Hochman for district attorney last year. The actress has accused Manson of abuse and rape and said she had spoken to police. Following Hochman’s announcement, Bianco said she was “deeply disappointed” but “sadly not surprised” on Instagram. “I know the truth of what happened to me,” she wrote. “It sits deeply rooted in my belly, unshakable, mine. No-one and nothing can take that away.” In the release, Hochman commended “the courage and resilience” of the Manson accusers who participated in the investigation.
