Meet Sublue’s Vapor Underwater Scooter

Boaters love their water toys and the Sublue Vapor is a stowable underwater scooter that reportedly runs as well as it glides, and offers extended range for divers.

The Vapor uses pump-jet technology with ALO 2.0 (Active Loop Optimization) and has a 6-blade impeller and 12-blade rear guide vane. This design converts torque into thrust, producing up to a reported 46 pounds of force and speeds up to 6 mph. Measuring a tidy 22 by 13 inches, and weighing 20.9 pounds, the Vapor is easy to stow onboard.

Users can choose from three speed settings: 3.7 mph, 4.9 mph and 6 mph. The scooter runs on a removable 13000mAh battery offering varying runtimes: 45 minutes at the lowest speed, 30 minutes at medium speed and 18 minutes at maximum speed. Charging the Vapor takes about 3 hours, or just 1.5 hours with an optional fast charger.

The scooter’s 4.3-inch LCD screen displays critical information such as battery life, speed, direction, water temperature and depth. It also has a universal mounting interface for cameras, allowing users to capture their underwater adventures.

Safety features include a customizable depth alert system and a depth change rate alert, which helps prevent rapid ascents or descents that could lead to injury. These alerts help ensure safe diving practices.

The Sublue Vapor pairs to smartphones via a dedicated app, allowing users to share dive data such as depth, temperature and location. This app connectivity also helps maintain a link to the surface.

Its design focuses on hydrodynamic efficiency, with a sleek body design and buoyancy chamber to reduce water resistance, making it easier for users to navigate with minimal effort.

The combination of variable-speed propulsion, intuitive controls and safety features makes the Vapor a versatile, fun water toy to have in the boating arsenal.
