Warner Bros’s good fortune in April hasn’t stopped. The highest-grossing movie for 2025, A Minecraft Movie, continues to rake in the dough and now a second film has entered the chat. Two WB films are dominating the box office this weekend (and one of them has a song creeping up in the top 40 charts). Minecraft and Sinners, two movies that normally should never be seen together as a double feature, especially if you’re the former’s main demographic (unless you have really cool parents, then proceed.) Per Variety, Minecraft is estimated to earn $45 million for its third weekend in theaters, coming out on top. Following close behind, Sinners is estimated to be about $40 million for its opening weekend. Throughout the weekend, the two films took turns at the top of the box office. On Good Friday, the Ryan Coogler film scored $19 million, beating out Minecraft during its first full day in theaters; however, The Hollywood Reporter predicts that Minecraft will pass Sinners once again sometime on Saturday. Regardless of whether it’s a creeper or a vampire who takes the final cake on Sunday, the real winner is Warner Bros., well if you decide to forget about The Alto Knights.
