It’s him, hi. Morgan Wallen’s the problem, and he’s doubling down ahead of his May 16 I’m the Problem. Wallen addressed his now-infamous Saturday Night Live walk-off for the first time since he left New York for “God’s country” on the May 11 episode of the Barstool podcast Sundae Conversation, which specializes in conversations with controversial celebrities like DaBaby, Aaron Rodgers, and Jake Paul. After a bit of banter, Caleb Pressley, the host of Sundae Conversation, asked Wallen, “Seriously, SNL, did they make you mad?” to which Wallen responded, “No, no, I was just ready to go home. I been there all week.” Wallen unceremoniously dipped during the live good-byes on the March 30, Mikey Madison–hosted SNL episode on which he was the musical guest. Shortly after, Wallen posted a photo of his private plane and captioned it, “Get me to God’s country,” on his Instagram Story.
SNL referenced Wallen’s walk-off on the April 5 episode with James Austin Johnson as Trump saying he would love to visit Heard and McDonald Islands, which are real, uninhabited islands the president imposed tariffs on. “Can you imagine that? Big Mac and a hula skirt,” Johnson joked. “Get me to God’s country, right? Remember that?” Has anyone considered that Wallen might have been talking about the Ethel Cain song called “God’s Country”? Get him a “Support the Dolls” T-shirt, stat.
