The 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship trophy was on display at Brownsville Middle School on Thursday.

The national championship game will held at Hard Rock Stadium next year and excitement is already building.

The CEO of the Orange Bowl Committee, Eric Poms, says the city will be ready for the big event.

“Miami and South Florida so excited to bring college football’s premier event back to our community,” Poms said.

Poms pointed to the city’s ability to pull off the 2021 title game in the midst of a pandemic as proof they’re up to the task again.

“We obviously had experience in 2021 where despite the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, the game was played, it was pulled off,” he said. “But we were very hopeful that the College Football Playoff would give us another opportunity to host this game.”

“Eric and the bowl committee do a great job, and I know I’m biased, but there’s no better town to host a big event than South Florida in this community, so it’ll be great to see next year,” said Local 10’s Will Manso.
