Pedro Pascal is reading anti-trans author J.K. Rowling for filth. “Awful disgusting SHIT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior,” the Last of Us star wrote in the comments section of an Instagram video about Rowling’s celebration of an April 16 U.K. Supreme Court decision. (The ruling, which states that trans women are not considered women under Britain’s Equality Act, was pushed by a Rowling-supported campaign group.) Pascal also appears to support a boycott of the franchise over Rowling’s views; the video that he commented on was shared by writer and activist Tariq Ra’ouf as a call to action for people to “make sure that every single thing that’s Harry Potter–related fails.”

Pascal, whose sister Lux is trans, joins several celebrities who have criticized Rowling for bigotry. Pascal has long been vocal about his support for trans rights. He wore a “Protect the Dolls” shirt to his 50th birthday party on April 6 as well as to the London premiere of Marvel’s Thunderbolts* on April 22 in the wake of the U.K. Supreme Court’s ruling. (“Dolls” is an affectionate term for trans women.) Designer Conner Ives, who is selling the shirt in support of the Trans Lifeline nonprofit, told the New York Times that net sales totaled more than $250,000 as of April 18. Both Addison Rae and Troye Sivan have also been photographed in the shirt, which is multipurpose: It supports trans people and lets execs know that you’re not interested in going to HBO-gwarts.
