Formerly known as the Private Suite, PS is a Los Angeles-based company that has recently expanded its luxurious offerings at major airports, including Miami International and Dallas-Fort Worth. This innovative concept positions itself uniquely between first-class airline lounges and private Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) for business jets, providing an unparalleled pre-flight experience.

A Unique Space in Air Travel

Amina Belouizdad Porter, CEO of PS, describes the company’s niche as “the white space between commercial and private air travel.” This statement encapsulates the essence of PS, which aims to deliver the upscale comforts typically reserved for private jet travelers to those flying commercially. With an emphasis on privacy and exclusivity, PS offers a level of service that surpasses traditional airport lounges.

Expanding Horizons: New Locations

PS opened its first location nearly nine years ago at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This facility, situated two miles away from the congested airport entryway, features 12 individual suites and a dedicated team of staff members. The success of this initial venture has paved the way for further expansions. In late 2023, PS launched a second location at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), catering to the increasing number of A-listers traveling between LAX and ATL for film projects. This 8,575-square-foot facility boasts three private suites and a shared salon, all bathed in natural light and offering stunning views of the runway.

Construction is also underway for a 12,200-square-foot facility at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), with plans for a Miami International Airport (MIA) location set to break ground soon. Both new sites are expected to be operational by spring 2026, further solidifying PS’s presence in the luxury travel market.

A Step Above Traditional Lounges

While many commercial airline lounges have made strides in enhancing their offerings, they often lack the exclusivity and tailored experience that PS provides. Operating as a fixed-base operator for commercial flights, PS features purpose-built facilities separate from the main airport terminals. This setup includes its own TSA security and immigration processes, allowing for seamless access to aircraft airside.

Unlike traditional lounges, which may offer à la carte dining or spa services, PS focuses on creating an intimate and personalized experience. Guests are driven directly to and from the aircraft door in a luxury BMW, ensuring minimal interaction with the main terminal.

The PS Experience: Amenities and Services

PS facilities are designed to cater to the needs of travelers seeking a private-jet-like experience without the exorbitant costs. Each location offers a range of amenities, including private suites with dedicated showers and dining spaces, as well as shared lounges for smaller groups. The MIA location, housed in the historic former Pan American Airways headquarters, will feature five private suites, two salons, a central outdoor courtyard, and a day spa.

The DFW facility, designed by architect Jean Liu, will include a bar at its center, offering plush seating and runway views. A fully private TSA checkpoint ensures that the airport process remains as seamless as possible, further enhancing the overall experience.

Culinary Delights and Signature Offerings

One of the standout features of PS is its extensive menu of complimentary cocktails and chef-prepared meals. Among the offerings, the signature PS burger has garnered rave reviews, becoming a beloved staple among guests. While the service is undoubtedly luxurious, the emphasis on quality food adds a unique touch to the overall experience.

Pricing and Membership Options

PS operates on a per-usage pricing model, with private suites available for $4,850 for up to four travelers and shared salons priced at $1,095 per person. For frequent travelers, an annual membership offers discounts and additional perks, such as priority reservations and complimentary valet parking.

With business thriving and a growing clientele, PS is poised for continued success. Belouizdad Porter notes that word of mouth has played a significant role in attracting new customers, particularly during peak travel times. As the company expands its footprint in major airports, it is clear that PS is not just a fleeting trend but a transformative force in the world of luxury air travel.
