The Pursuit S 328 was introduced in 2017, and with 485 hulls built, to say it was popular is an understatement. But like any successful boatbuilder, Pursuit is constantly striving for improvement, even with a bestseller. For 2025, Pursuit took its deep knowledge and experience of the S 328 and reimagined this center-console in terms of form and function.

Take the boat’s helm, for example. It now has an integrated fold-down footrest, providing a place to relax the feet and legs during a long day on the water, as well as a way to create a standing perch. Additionally, the helm has a leather dash. Teak flourishes are available to add panache.

The helm console accommodates standard dual 16-inch Garmin 8616 displays. It also comes with Siren Marine’s Connected Boat monitoring system. Owners can add a Garmin GMR Fantom 54 open-array radar and FLIR night vision.

Pursuit also added more hideaway spaces, and there is increased stowage under the S 328’s leaning post. There is also an in-sole compartment for gear, along with coaming lockers to port and starboard.

Belowdecks, the update translates into ease of use. A settee on centerline pulls out to form a berth, a task the builder says can be done with just one hand. The boat’s head is concealed discreetly when not in use too.

As much as some things change, some important things remain the same. For the S 328, that means a hand-laid fiberglass hull supported by a foam-filled, resin-infused and rigid structural grid, as well as an infused and reinforced transom, all adding backbone.

The transom accommodates twin 300 or 350 hp Yamaha outboards. With the twin 350s, Pursuit reports a top hop of about 45 knots. At 4,000 rpm, cruise speed is right around 30 knots.

Fishing is the S 328’s primary mission, and the boat is equipped with a 24-gallon livewell, a bait-prep station, nine rod holders, tackle stowage and fish boxes. This boat is also prerigged for electric reels for deep-dropping fans, as well as downriggers. Some angling options include additional rod holders and Gemlux outriggers.

Past performance can’t predict future success, but the Pursuit S 328 is starting off in a solid place, embodying what made the original a market juggernaut with an array of experience-enhancing upgrades.

Cockpit Accouterments

  • There is a transom foldout seat and an aft-facing foldout seat.
  • A fiberglass table creates alfresco dining between the seats.
  • A refrigerator/freezer is optional. It replaces the leaning-post tackle center to starboard.
