Tina Fey has studied mean girls — she knows not to be the Cady Heron clamoring to replace the queen bee. In real life, Fey isn’t publicly angling to replace Lorne Michaels as the head honcho at Saturday Night Live, even after Michaels said in 2024 she could “easily” do the job herself. “It was nice of him to say that, and I love him very much,” Fey told The Hollywood Reporter on April 16. But, she added, “he’s irreplaceable.” Her reasoning is that “his set of gifts and skills is entirely unique. His eye for talent! He’s one of the last three people in show business who actually understand everything. I’ll leave it at that.” For what it’s worth, Amy Poehler told THR, “I will say that I feel like there are very few things that Tina wouldn’t do well in this world.” Well, somebody is going to have to replace the irreplaceable man one day. Will it be you, Cady?
