
CinemaCon? More like IP-Con! Okay, that doesn’t have the same ring to it, but the sentiment stands. CinemaCon began on March 31 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and features panels about the future of movies, trade shows, an award for making the most money, and a handy-dandy snapshot of films slated to hit theaters in 2026, all of them based on preexisting franchises. There’s Fast X: Part 2, Shrek 5, and Scream 7, and the list includes Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, if you consider epic poetry intellectual property. These are blockbusters, people.
