Why Were Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Not at the Met Gala?

Another day, another Met Gala where everyone hopes Taylor Swift will show up, but she’s probably chilling at home with her cats. Swift hasn’t shown up to the fundraiser in nine years, since she was a co-chair in 2016 and possibly left the scene in a “Getaway Car,” but why would this time be different? Maybe because it would’ve been a great fashion moment to hint at Reputation (TV), especially since she’s been renewing the trademark for quite some time, and she’s been dating Travis Kelce for almost two years. He loves to dress up! Why deny him the opportunity? TMZ reports that the couple were both invited to attend but “could not make it work due to their schedules.” Schedules … like work schedules? Okay, obviously Kelce’s doing his podcast, but what about Tay? Swift has been talking about the Rep vault tracks since late 2023, so the songs have probably been recorded for quite some time. What else could she be working on that she can’t step out for a day? A … movie, perhaps? A production with a set schedule that makes it difficult to change working days due to permits, budgets, and actors being put on hold? If people can clown over every rerelease, we can clown over her upcoming movie.
