The Hamptons real estate market is not just about luxury homes and stunning ocean views; it’s also a vibrant community where businesses and residents come together to support one another. This month, our Real Estate Odds & Ends column highlights some exciting developments in the local real estate industry, as well as community initiatives that showcase the spirit of giving during the holiday season.

David Ali Joins Greg D’Angelo Construction

In a significant move for the luxury home construction sector, Greg D’Angelo Construction (GDC) has welcomed David Ali as its new construction manager. With a robust background in the luxury home market, Ali is poised to lead high-end projects throughout the Hamptons.

Greg D’Angelo, the president of GDC, expressed confidence in Ali’s abilities, stating, “David brings a wealth of experience in the luxury home market, a dedication to quality, and an exceptional eye for detail—all of which resonate deeply with our values at Greg D’Angelo Construction.” His hands-on approach will ensure that every project aligns meticulously with the client’s vision and budget, fostering a collaborative environment among clients, architects, and the GDC team.

Founded 35 years ago, GDC has built a reputation for excellence, with a diverse portfolio that includes both traditional and modern designs. As the firm continues to grow, Ali’s leadership is expected to enhance client relationships and elevate the quality of luxury home construction in the area.

Community Coat Drives

As winter approaches, the Hamptons community is coming together to support those in need through various coat drives. Sotheby’s International Realty has partnered with Heart of the Hamptons and The Sag Harbor Food Pantry to host a coat drive at their offices. Residents can drop off new or gently used winter coats for all ages at their locations in Bridgehampton, East Hampton, or Southampton from November 25 to December 31.

Similarly, Town & Country Real Estate is also hosting its annual coat drive, accepting donations until December 1 at their offices in Montauk, East Hampton, Bridgehampton, Southampton, Westhampton Beach, Mattituck, and Greenport. These initiatives not only provide warmth to those in need but also foster a sense of community and compassion during the colder months.

Thanksgiving Donation Drive

The spirit of giving continues with the 11th annual Thanksgiving Donation Drive organized by Saunders & Associates. This initiative aims to support local food pantries across the East End, addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity in the Hamptons. Colleen Saunders, senior vice president of operations, emphasized the importance of this cause, stating, “Far too many people in the Hamptons experience food insecurity, and our mission is to ensure that no family goes hungry.”

Since its inception in 2013, the Thanksgiving Donation Drive has raised significant funds, with last year’s total exceeding $14,000. Donations can be made through a dedicated GoFundMe account, allowing community members to contribute easily. Steve Glick, senior vice president of marketing, highlighted the impact of cash donations, noting that they empower charitable organizations to serve those in need effectively.
