Sam Says: Raise the Price of Dropout

Don’t get mad at a tuition increase — that’s just what a college(humor) has to do sometimes. Dropout, the comedy streaming service that began as part of CollegeHumor but is now independent, is raising its subscription price. By one dollar. The price increase goes into effect on May 7, meaning new or returning subscribers who join after that date will now pay $6.99 per month, or $69.99 per year. (Nice.) Current subscribers will be grandfathered in, and their price per month will not change, but locking in the original rate will require a yearly upgrade before May 7.

This is the first price increase since 2022, when Dropout also raised its subscription cost by a dollar. “Higher prices simply means that we can spend more on shows, the infrastructure to support those shows, and treating our people even better,” Dropout CEO Sam Reich said in a video statement. Those employees are Very Important People and must be compensated as such.
