“In Hiato 1133, Mylene Costa unites the strength of sculptural form with the delicacy of spiritual intuition, embodying her signature dialogue between matter and transcendence. The deep, reflective blue and fluid geometry evoke a sense of suspension — a moment where solidity yields to contemplation and the material becomes a vessel for the immaterial. Through this interplay of fissure and form, Costa transforms metal into meditation, inviting the viewer to experience silence, revelation, and continuity as intertwined states of being. From a curatorial perspective, Hiato 1133 encapsulates Costa’s poetic exploration of transformation and permanence, aligning with the gallery’s vision of art as a space for consciousness, reflection, and sensorial awakening.” Curatorial Statement — Bisa Bennett of Artio Gallery.

Simultaneously, the City of Sunny Isles Beach debuts a compelling new chapter of its Art Uncorked series featuring Mylene Costa during Miami Art Week, presented in partnership with the renowned Paris-based gallery Espace Meyer Zafra. The exhibition runs December 1–16, 2025 at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, offering an intimate look at Costa’s sculptural language within a civic, cultural, and community-oriented environment. As part of the exhibition, the City will host a special reception titled The Shape of Art: A Live Curation, on December 3 from 6 – 8pm at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center featuring champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and the opportunity to hear from Gallerist Liliane Zafrani of Espace Meyer Zafra with remarks by Mylene Costa, along with a guided look into the process, meaning, and evolution of Costa’s sculptural practice. This rare, behind-the-scenes moment allows audiences to engage directly with the artist and the Paris-based gallery shaping the exhibition.
